Destination filmaking: we feel this is one of our specialisms. We have worked for many desination brands over the years, from Visit Wales, to numerous holiday parks, Michelin starred hotels, to Visit Somerset and Visit Dorset. This passion is born partly out of the frustration of how bad many tourism ads are – ubiquitous tourism cliches, fun for all the family, shiny white teeth, the perfect family, a great day out, emblazoned with saturated colours and garish logos. The problem is that as everyone does it, it becomes wallpaper. Before we develop the creative, our ambition is always to find an insight, something that you say about a destination that makes it unique, that makes it stand apart from it neighbours. Why go to Somerset when you can go to Cornwall or Devon, well quite simply, its easier to get to, you can get there and about in a weekend, travel is easier, ‘so near nothing wasted’
The other crucial part to tourism advertising is ‘authenticity’ – our cast need to be not cast, but real holiday makers, enriched by a sense of place, lost in a moment, never to be forgotten. We spend alot of time finding the right people to cast, we make them feel natural and comfortable in front of camera, so we become merely flies on the wall as they engage upfront with the joys of a specific destination.
